Recently named one of the top ten summer attractions in the Upstate by a statewide publication, the T. Ed Garrison Arena is the only public facility in South Carolina specifically devoted to serving the needs of horse and cattle events.   Operated by the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, the arena is utilized year-round for exhibitions, contests, professional rodeos, and sales.

About the size of a football field, the main arena floor is spacious enough to accommodate some of the largest livestock events in the Southeast.  The equestrian events, many featuring breeds like American Saddlebreds, Appaloosas or Arabians, are as exciting as the rodeos, in which cowboys wrestle calves to the ground or cling to a fiercely bucking bull.  And no matter which of the 3,000 seats you choose, you are sure to have a great view of the arena floor.

The livestock stalls provide visitors, including children, with unforgettable educational adventures like petting a farm animal or discovering where milk really comes from.

Since opening in April 1991, the arena has hosted more than 350 events, which have attracted more than 400,000 visitors.

Many of the events are free or have only a modest admission fee, making Garrison Arena events fun and affordable for the entire family!
