Pickens Board of Disabilities completes Leadership program

PICKENS, S.C. – The Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs recently completed a four-session Leadership Foundations program, presented by John Cole of Maximum Potential Training of Easley, SC.

“John Cole delivered professional Leadership Training in a fun and easy to understand format that energized our employees and made them look forward to each session,” said Elaine Thena, the Executive Director of the Pickens Board. Throughout his lengthy career, John has been deeply involved in the training and development of personnel in all levels of organizations. He has utilized his training expertise at multiple General Motor facilities,  HR Manager for Totes Footwear, VP HR for Leblond Makino Machine Tool Company, Training Director for Greater Cincinnati Employer’s Institute, VP HR for Sunland Distribution, President of Sunland Staffing, and now Vice-President of Maximum Potential Training.

The Leadership Foudations program, which the Pickens County Board completed, was broken down into four sessions. The programs participants were presented a variety of topics, all important to leadership roles. These included what being a leader means, how to go about motivating others, various methods of communication, and compliance laws that affect those in a leadership role. “MaxPT’s efficient and well-presented formats proved to not only better the supervisors within the class but also their subordinates and the clients we serve,” said Thena. “The in-class team building exercise encourages the staff to work outside of the box to achieve group goals and the out of class assignments allowed participants to work on an independent level to identify their own strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommend MaxPT’s services for any business wishing to encourage their staff to work as a team and recognize their maximum potential as employees.”

In addition to this leadership course, Maximum Potential Training offers a variety of resources and programs to meet an organization’s training and employee development needs and goals.
